VividCon

Is there enough interest here to track VividCon on the pending contest lists ?

Although not an anime convention, they do accept and show AMVs.

No reason not to, then. Unless VividCon complains about too many Narutopark vids.

There's nothing stopping anyone from submitting a video, certainly. The shows that are currently open to all submissions are Nearly New, Premieres and the Challenge show. Unlike most anime cons, the shows aren't contests, they are just expositions.

Nearly New is for videos made in the last year that have been released and Premieres is for videos that will be shown for the first time at that show. The Challenge show is for blind premiering entries made for a particular theme (this year the theme is Faith). Most if not all Premiering videos go on the con dvd.

There are no limits on what you can submit and there are no restrictions on the content of a video but priority is given to people who are at the convention in cases where there are more videos submitted than we have room to show.

The only ones that get comp badges are staff :) As a lot of the people going are actually doing panels and whatnot it would mean there wouldnt be much money actually run the con :P

Anyone thinking of submitting to VividCon should pay special attention to the submission rules. Their MPEG2 requirements are somewhat different than for AMV contests (de-multiplexed, medium bitrate, etc.).
