Another year, another competition!
Once more you shall be hearing a lot from me about this very awesome competition we have in Manifest. We received tonnes of entries last year, more than we could play actually (though they were all pre-screened and judged) so this year depending on the number and quality of entries, I may yet again employ the overflow/amateur screening that we had happen back in the Friday of Manifest 2005.
Our special flavour of Iron Chef AMV competition is now open as well for applications if you want to take on 2 time consecutive winner, bluetrain. It's a 24 hour battle royale with last year seeing 6 people duke it out for the title. This is definitely a lot of fun and I aim to have some sort of room dedicated to the video editors this year so if they bring their computers like they did last year, they have some place to sit and edit and maybe have people come and bug them to ask how they do the magic they do

The AMV Exhibition was also a big hit last year, so I'll be sure to have that happen again, and maybe even give it a longer timeslot so we can show even more awesome videos and maybe more premieres like ROS3 and Yuri Collections from last year.
It's going to be another fun filled year in Manifest this year, so come along. Even if you can't come, be sure to send in your most awesome videos because we do give away fantastic medals

All the information should be in the Manifest website, but feel free to PM me here or email me at amv@manifest.org.au for more information and submission details.
UPDATE 10/07/07:
Anyway, there's an FTP upload service that I've opened up for those desperate in some way to send their video to Manifest. It has its conditions but essentially, I'm putting this as a last resort method rather than the preferred method of submitting to us. More information is said here:

UPDATE 18/07/07:
Right, there's a bit of a change in the way AMVs are handled this year. Due to the number of videos that are entered into Manifest, we will be employing a finalist system this year where only the top rated videos by the judges are shown on the Saturday Fan Vote screening session.
However, because I understand the frustration that occurs when you realise your video didn't make it to the Saturday screening, I have re-instated the Friday screening session for the videos that didn't make it into the finals. Just because your video wasn't shown on Saturday doesn't mean it wasn't any good. In fact, it was a hard decision last year having to choose which videos ended up getting shown because many of them didn't make it only by the smallest of margins.
