AWA MASTERS CONTEST DEADLINE APPROACHES
Ladies and gents, the big one is approaching! The deadline for entry into the AWA 11 Masters' contest is coming up fast, on August 13th! Keep in mind that, barring popular revolt, this is likely to be the last AWA Masters' contest ever!
For those new to the AWA contests, the Masters' contest is our arena for the most discriminating competiton between AMV masterpieces as sent in by artists looking for the stiffest competition. One video per competitor is allowed, any material, any length. Only one video is selected as the winner, no runners-up, no honorable mentions. The selection is made by myself, with assistance from a panel of experts. Competition is limited to those who have won previous AMV competitions either at AWA or elsewhere. The details of the rules are listed here: http://www.awa-con.com/index.php?id=70#masters in extensive detail, or in the "cliffs notes" section for a brief overview.
Just one detail I want to point out... please note that when you submit your entry, included in the entry should be your formal jacket style. The award itself is a green jacket, and we'd like it to fit.
I'm hoping to take this contest out with a bang rather than a whimper, so I'm hoping for stiff competition from the AMVers out there.
Any further questions can be asked at AWA's messageboard, or here.
The FTP site for uploading videos is located here:http://awa-vat.net/

I probably stand a decent chance of sounding a bit silly here, but looking a bit silly isn't somethign that really bothers me that much these days- wouldn't it be better to not be essentially telling MCWagner "Looooooky! I'm entering this contest you're supposed to judge entirely without knowing who's in it!"? It was my understanding that Masters was supposed to be judged not only without knowing whose entry was which but also without even knowing exactly who had entered the contest...

It likely doesn't do any harm, in the same way that people posting in the pro thread, where that contest is also blinded, doesn't really do any harm.Ashyukun wrote:I probably stand a decent chance of sounding a bit silly here, but looking a bit silly isn't somethign that really bothers me that much these days- wouldn't it be better to not be essentially telling MCWagner "Looooooky! However, Ashyukun does have a point, especially since the field is significantly smaller. Thus, I will not be checking this thread anymore, but will get one of my sub-directors to do so. They'll be able to answer any questions or problems that crop up.

I wanted to enter, but didn't have a 'qualifying' video this time. (shrugs)

The vid that qualified you for last year will qualify you for this year, too. There is no time limit.
