Battle Royal AMV Contest Boycott

This is a simple statement regarding the Battle Royal amv contest that a site is holding which will remain unnamed.

AnimeMusicVideos.org will not permit any links to the site holding the contest and the contest is not allowed to be promoted on the site in any way. The site running the contest offers DVD rips of anime and we do not support bootleg anime goods as we feel that people should use source footage that they have paid official anime publishers for. This has been a long-standing rule on the site and will not change just because a dubious website is offering an amv contest.

We would also like to ask members to boycott the contest. We can't force anybody but we advise that members think twice about supporting a site that profits from selling bootleg anime.

I already won.

Then I took the dvd rips and turned the contest coordinators in to the cops. The mayor awarded me with the legit version of the dvd rip I won plus a gold key that has chocolate inside.

DVD Rips now that's cheap that's no way to run a contest, and that says alot about the person running it. I'll just leave it at that before I say anything offense. I'll boycott it as well.

mmm...bootleg....

I can speak from experiance, because when i was in Bali, they have no original movies, lol...they are all bootleg, so not only do you feel bad for getting an illegal copy, but the quality sucks and its really not worth it.

And why go through all the time and effort to win things someone got for free? boggles my mind really...
