:( I wish I could go but there was absolutely no time off work for me to do it. It's a nine hour drive from where I live and this would be the one I could have attended if I had a few days off, but - Oh well. At least I knew about it ahead of time and did At Home Screening which I just finished yesterday. I had to over-night it to meet the deadline becuase they sent my tapes back late. (I saw vids 1+2 by the way).
Hey Ashyukun, I saw your AMV on tape 1. Nice job! I expect to see it at the con. Other people who had great vids that my bad memory can remember: OmniStrata, had a great dance vid. Vlad, Doki Doki, Senta Miller all great vids!! The Contest is going to be great this year I can already tell!
For those of you lucky enough to make it, look for my vid "My Goddess". It had made it to finals at Fanime so I have hopes of it making the contest at Otakon too. And I'll be at Otakon to meet all the creators too, so see you there!

The seven tapes weren't really ordered any way in particular. Each tape seems to be a mix of catagories, so each one has some Romantic/Sentimental vids, some Dramatic/Serious vids, some Action vids, some Rhythm/Dance vids, and some Humorous vids on it. (Around 24-31 vds a tape). I dont know which tape my vid is one either, since they won't send the at-home evaluators tapes that have their own AMV on them. (To avoid bias). Hope that helps. :)

Rant

Post by OtakuForLife » Sat Jun 28, 2003 3:08 pm

Speaking of the at-home verison mine arrived on friday. After
some major post office issues. I sent the inside mailer for priotey mail
2-3 day dilvery and got it five days later. Should be there by mon or
tues day at the lastest. If my votes don't count, Oh well.. I just wanted
to thank Doki Doki for the death metal translations and the guy
that made the villiana ice vash AMV. Hope my amv gets what it
deserves. Cuase, I was brutely honest in the comments colum
example "Why?!" "I will blind myself if I have to watch that again"
"Oh look the cartoon network logo" :) I also said some nice things
though giving made props to there deserving creators. That's all....
maybe I should get some sleep now zZZ

Having gone to all the college park screenings, I have just a couple things to say...

1)My brain hurts.
2)A number of creators need to reread whichever guide covers aspect ratios and anamorphic video.
3)There are four anime which were so overused this year that it was getting painful to sit through another video with them by the end. The joke by the end of the day was that they were going to need their own separate categories.
4)My brain hurts.
5)Uhhhhh.....................
6)My brain hurts. Too...many...videos.

We watched ~175 videos over the three weeks, it should be interesting to see the final number after all the DQ's...we had a couple more for subs/dubs today, and one or two got brought up on content.

Have fun KoP folks. Just think, you're missing the joys of half the submissions!
