Katsucon 2023 - Last call, submissions close Dec 1!

Hello all! The Katsucon 2023 AMV Contests submissions are open! All the details can be found at this link: https://www.katsucon.org/contests/amv/

Once again, we are offering three contests, each corresponding to a different maturity rating:

• The AMV Showdown, our PG-13 headliner show;

• The ever popular NSFW AMVs, our 18+ show; and

• Saturday Morning AMVs, our family-friendly (PG) show.

We also have an AMV Blender for new editors to show off their works in progress and for veteran editors to show short clips that aren’t long enough for a full AMV.

Our submission period starts now and will be open until December 1st. We can’t wait to see what you have all come up with this year! In this thread, please feel free to share about the videos you’re working on and ask any questions not answered in the FAQ.

PS - We're aiming to expand the NSFW contest this year, so we welcome your naughtiest and craziest videos

Number 9 in the rules:

In the interest of featuring fresh and exciting content in our AMV competitions we ask that you refrain from submitting AMVs that have won awards in three or more AMV competitions.

To be fair, the rules kinda feel hidden...

There is no specific rule around the year it was uploaded.

There is also some leeway around videos that have received the 3+ awards at contests in other countries or regions, since they could still be fresh for the audience in the Mid-Atlantic.
