QUICK RULES SUMMARY:
-• Entries must not have premiered (online or otherwise) before July 1st, 2020.
-• Entries must not have been submitted to the a prior Sakura-Con AMV Contest (including 2020's).
-• No more than three entries per person/group. Commercials & Intros ARE AN EXCEPTION, send as many as you'd like.
-• The duration of your entries must be no shorter/longer than:
-----• AMV Entries: 75 seconds minimum, 6 min maximum.
-----• Trailers: 1 min minimum, 3 min 30 sec maximum.
-----• Intros & Commercials: 15 seconds minimum, 1min 30 sec maximum.
-• Must be age 13+ appropriate.
-• No subtitles, watermarks, logos, credits, references to other contests or text that is unnecessary to the concept.
-• The majority of your entry’s video content must consist of anime-styled or manga-styled content. If in doubt, ask us.
-• Audio for all AMV entries (except Trailer/Commercial/Intro) must be majority music. No excessive dialogue/narration.
-• AMV-Hell style entries will not be accepted.
-• Must satisfy our technical requirements.

Some quick stats: We accepted a total of 161 entries from 85 unique entrants. Of those, 40 entries from 30 of those participants shall advance to the finals exhibition.

For those of you who don't see your name in the above list, don't forget that we have a pre-show during audience seating, so there is a chance your entry might still play on our big screen! If you will be attending Sakura-Con, let us know! If the schedule permits, we will do our best to fit your best scoring entry into our pre-show.

--- Update: 12-11-2021

The more observant among you might have noticed that I've made a slight tweak to my signature. Specifically, "Sakura-Con 2022 - AMV Contest Coordinator". This might prompt you to ask, "Where's Vlad?"

Simple. Vlad and I are load-balancing responsibilities this year. Up to now, the herculean weight of all AMV activities rested on him. But from now on, I'll focus the AMV Contest (with great assistance from Jason [AKA: Yuusharo]), and Vlad will focus on the needs of the AMV Theater (with great assistance from James [AKA: purplepolecat]). This is how we divided responsibilities at AX, which worked very well for us, and all major decisions (including pre-judging and category sorting) will continue to be determined by consensus amongst the four of us.

In other words, nothing's changed, except Yuusharo and I will now be the ones answering y'all's questions and shooting down last minute pleas for deadline extensions five minutes before the deadline.
