Post by Salkryn » Tue Feb 11, 2020 7:14 pm

The Acen 2020 AMV contest is open for entries. Further details can be found on our Facebook page.

Submission form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... g/viewform

Rules: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HtQ ... ov8wCdn3jk

Contest FAQ: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nYN ... 8gF1hEx_bU

As with last year, changes in convention rules mean we cannot ship awards and prizes to recipients, prizes must be picked up at the convention either by the editor or their designated proxy. We apologize to anyone who will not be able to receive their rewards because of this.

Can prizes be mailed to the winners or no?

Sadly, as of last year we are no longer authorized to mail prizes to the winners, even within CONUS. I have been told, at length, not to discuss this further. The only concession we can make is that you may designate someone as your representative to pick up your prizes at the convention (they must be an attendee), and they can ship it to you. I apologize for the inconvenience, and must state again I am not *allowed* to give any more information than that.

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that Anime Central 2020 has been cancelled in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The current plan is to simply include the entries we've already received into next year's contest, but that decision is not final. I will post more information once it is available, and I apologize to all contest entrants and attendees.

If I may make a suggestion, Sakura-Con and Anime Boston are opting to hold 2 separate contests at their 2021 conventions. I can attest that such a thing has been successful in the past. In 2016, Anime Conji was cancelled but I had already begun the process of putting the contest together. The powers that be allowed me to run the contest in the AMV room at Anime Expo that year while their main contest was held in main events. Both contests had full audiences.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll float it by the higher-ups, but I don't see any particular reason for them to object to it.
