Had a few people write to tell me about the dead Past Winners link on the main AMV page, fear not! That and the "2017" will be changed soon!

So you're honestly expecting everyone who enters to have never posted their entered videos online?

I'm also going to go on record against the rule saying that videos can't have been posted online first. That should be changed!

Oh shoot, I didn't see that. Is that a request or a requirement? My submission has been on YouTube since August

For reference, I think we're all referring to rule 12 at http://www.katsucon.org/programming/amv/amv-showdown/

Yeah, it's a borderline de facto exclusivity/1st showing rule.

UPDATE: It's more of a request to /not/ post them online but we can't control what you do with your entry. Do and proceed as you see fit.
Nothing will be DQ'd for being online already.

Thank you for the clarification, Mareep. Is it possible to add some clarification on the rules page, or strike that rule entirely? The other freshness rule (can't enter if it won three awards) seems like it does the trick already

Thanks! I've been going to the Katsucon contest for over a decade and want it to get as many cool AMVs submitted as possible

Should an AMV using the TV-MA Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works go under the AMV NSFW? It does show some fight scene spoilers, and it is violent and I don't want to submit it the wrong category, I've got it all finished.

We have had some FATE AMVs get into the main contest, it's kinda subjective to what you actually put in there. I will say, if an AMV is deemed too violent/racy we will port it over the NSFW contest and will contact they entrant to notify them of the change.

So if it's one you are unsure of go ahead and submit it to the Showdown.

Okay, if Ufotable Fate entries have made it into the main contest then I'll submit it there! Thank you!

Any thoughts from editors about having an AMV editor dinner? Maybe right after one of the showings?
