Once again it's that time of year, the Anime North Music Video Contest for 2017 is now open and accepting entries. Deadline for submissions is April 1st 2017.

This year's Challenge Category features an audio Challenge.

Momiji has recently been watching too much TV, and wonders if the commercials would be better if they were anime style instead.

This year’s challenge is an audio one. The video must contain audio from a commercial of non -Japanese origin. These include, but are not limited to: movie trailers, product commercials, and advertisements for events.

Please remember about the corporate logo rule, as videos will be disqualified if they have official logos as part of the visuals. As such please honor the Japanese Tradition of changing corporate names, such as Wac Donalds and Burger Queen if the name is shown on the screen. We cannot have official logos in the amv.

It was recently asked if parody commercials would be allowed, or commercials that were not shown on tv (ones played on youtube and the like). Both types would be allowed into the challenge category.

what exactly do you mean when you say audio from a non-Japanese origin commercial? Do we make a video using the audio from a commercial or an actual video (AMV) but somehow incorporate the commercial into it?

also another question, could we start off with the audio from a commercial and lead into a story using the main idea/message the commercial was trying to send?

Does the momiji's audio challenge task only apply to those who are participating in that Category of the contest?

The Challenge only applies to the Challenge division of the contest.

The challenge refers to only commercial audio. So the audio has to be from a commercial, like say a life insurance commercial, movie trailer, product commercial, event commercial ect.

Unfortunately for the challenge division the audio must entirely come from the audio of a commercial, so not it couldn't start with a commercial and then transition into something else.

But again as mentioned the challenge only applies to the challenge division.
