We have been getting ready for AnimeNEXT 2011 AMV events for quite some time. There are several additions to what was offered last year. By this weekend, it is our hope to be fully up and running with the AMV Contests posted. General posts will be made on Twitter and Facebook, but a majority of important details and discussion will be on the AnimeNEXT and animemusicvideos.org web pages and forums.
[Update] March 03, 2011:
Official AMV Contest Rules are now posted.
[Update] March 28, 2011:

There are 2 months until the AMV Contest Deadline.
[Update] May 5, 2011:
No confirmations have been sent since March. We sincerely apologize.
[Update] May 10, 2011:
Little over 2 weeks to the deadline. Get your videos in!
[Update] May 23, 2011:
Deadline is this Friday at 11:59 PM (EST).
I have sent confirmation e-mails to all persons that I have received videos from so far.
If you have not received confirmation of your video by yesterday, I have not received your AMV.
[Update] May 26, 2011:
I have about another 10-12 submissions in right now since the weekend. I'll go through those tonight and send out confirmations. If you get your videos submitted by 5:00 PM EST, I can confirm if your AMV works on my end. If it doesn't work, you still have a bit of time to meet the deadline. After that, all AMVs are taken as is.

Ho man. Thank you. I changed that post. You have no idea how many times I copy and paste things to save time. I'm leap-frogging contest information, improving upon it, and hopefully bringing editors and con-goers higher quality material.Scintilla wrote:Then you might want to change the topic to reflect this.ReligionX wrote:This post is reserved for any updates and general information regarding Zenkaikon 2011's AMV Contest.

Re: AnimeNEXT 2011 AMV Contest
You may be familiar with the server stability of AnimeNEXT's main page. This is nothing new. In the event of another mess of the AMV Contest rules, I am hosting a page of the rules. The wording is identical to the wording found on the AnimeNEXT page. The formatting is not as clean though.

Re: AnimeNEXT 2011 AMV Contest
I apologize to all the editors out there. I'm not up to my usual level of activity and responsiveness. I have received a great number of AMVs, and I have not sent confirmations. The quality of the AMV presentations will match what my other presentations have been in the past. This will be my last AMV Contest I run, and possibly the last convention I staff, at least for a few years. I have taken on too many responsibilities at one time, and I am not able to maintain a proper balance. Had I realized this sooner, I would have passed this position to someone else on staff.
If you have any specific issues you need to have resolved, let me know by e-mail. I'm more than happy to answer any questions.

Aww thank sucks.
I wish you luck in the future then.
I do have one question. I accidental sent my as a widescreen video. Should I resend the video letterboxed?

Re: AnimeNEXT 2011 AMV Contest
Thanks. I got just engaged a few weeks ago, bought a house last year that still needs a ton of work, I'm taking over a business this year or next year, I still don't have a car that I own (accident last year), I'm doing real live video editing for a couple friends (who think they can just film anything and have me make it look good [facepalm]), and some company has been doing plumbing work out side my house since February, leaving me with sand water, destroying my all new plumbing, toilets, washing machine and dishwasher (all of which I installed brand new in the past 12 months). None of my friends watch anime anymore like we all used to 7 days a week. If they don't I find that I don't. They're all getting married and having kids. I haven't turned on anime on my own since 2010. Is Bleach over yet?Kazemon15 wrote:Aww thank sucks.

Your AMV should be fine as it is. The AMVs will play in source aspect ratio (I learned the hard way to double check this is turned on, even if I am already 100% sure it is.)
I can check to make sure your AMV isn't playing in an aspect ratio you do not intend for it to be.
