are there any new contests this coming September????
I am new here in animemusicvideos.org but I do have the skills that can be fit for an AMV contest...so I would really like to join if there are any... can someone teach me the first step???? thanks a lot !!!

A good place to start would be to check out this site's AMV Contest Calendar to see what contests are coming up soon. When you find one you want to enter, go to the contest's website (this should be linked from the calendar) and look through all the rules and requirements, which should also give you the specifics of what you have to do to enter (every contest will be different).
Another great resource is the very board where you posted this thread, the AMV Contests board. It seems that many contests are only posted in one or the other, at least at first.
I can tell you right now that it does NOT suffice to go to the "Cons" page of your video information and start checking conventions left and right. That mechanism does not actually get you entered into any contests -- it's there when you want to indicate that you already have entered.
