I got my certificate today, as well. Sadly the glass on mine was broken, too. Though thankfully, I managed to avoid offering any blood to the envelope. I'd suggest either a layer of 1/2" bubble wrap or using an acrylic sheet instead of glass for the future. (And I think glass counts when the postal clerk asks you if the package contains anything liquid, fragile, perishable, or potentially hazardous.
