another option is trying the AX Forums
No activity since early March. I'd probably have better luck here.

Also PMing wouldn't do Cenit and the other international people any good. We just all need a solid answer on the matter.
try this thread then. it's a more active thread on the amv contest and as you can see DP's last post was just a couple days ago.

i don't know the rules regarding international entries, but instead of waiting for an answer you could take some initiative and try scanning a signed copy of your entry form, email that with your upload info and then just cross your fingers.

I was even working on Expo specific video until I noticed this. As an international editor, there's no way I am going to snail mail an entry form. Not when I may have to switch videos because one isn't done so close to the deadline.

If Expo can't at least give us a fax or email option, I am out.

I thought the rules had always been pretty clear about that (rule 14b); maybe next year it ought to be moved closer to the top of the list?

Anyway, I'm putting two videos on my entry form and just making a note that the second one may not be finished in time.

Rule 14b is very clear, but exceptions have been made in the past. The issue is that none of us are getting through to the individuals running the contest.

Also, the rule is simply archaic. At this point requiring hardcopies from anyone, let alone international editors, is inconsistent with the digital revolution. If the US Navy accepts scans of documents I sign as legally binding documents from Japan, so too can an AMV contest at an Anime Convention. Expo is way behind the times on this one.

Hey all.

Apparently there was a major mis-communication on the email boxes and mails sent to AMV@spja.org have been going sproingy sproingy.

I have just gotten done working with our head of IT and the address is working now. I deeply apologize for the inconvenience this has caused anyone. I will go back through this thread and locate the international question.

Regarding my answering to PMs. PM'ing me here on the org works. However a direct email to michael.underwood@spja.org goes directly to my AX/SPJA address. IF the amv@spja.org box goes down for some reason you can reach me there.

PLEASE try the AMV@spja.org box first. This way I know right away it is about the contest and not some spammer I have never heard of offering to enhance body parts I don't even have. :)

Again, please accept my deepest apologies for any and all inconvenience this may have caused any of you.

Sincerely,
Michael G. Underwoo

Does this mean the final upload deadline for the video is May 6th as well?
If you are Snail Mailing it...it must be postmarked May 1. IF you are FTP'ing vis Megaupload or whatever, you need to email me the link AND snail mail the entry form with a postmark of no later than May 1. That means I need the link by May 1 otherwise those submitting via interwebs would have a whole six days more to edit...not thats hardly fair don't you think?

Link to me no later than May 1.
Form, in the mail, postmarked no later than May 1.

Hope that answers it. ;)
