what about the Inner Circle Choice awards?
Isn't Inner Circle deal covered in the JCA/ECA's?
fair enough, but the JCA is too specific and the ECA is too broad for inner circle only...
i think....
but again, bad things happen when i think...

I huve agree, the site is open to everyone and anyone anywhere.. so everyone COULD OF nominated anyone and voted for the judges...

Regardless I think the main point he (or she) is making is that even if everyone has access, probably far less people participated in the JCA's than the VCA's and thus this could be improved upon (How? I have no idea). Although I disagree with some of the criticisms, I do actually agree with some of them. This being a primary one.

Although the results seem to be agreed upon by the *forum* community (I can't say myself having not seen enough videos), we can't really objectively say this is what most of the org or even what most editors believe. To assume these results are anything more than a small collection of forum goers and editors is a bit much.

At the same time, that's fine since the JCA's were supposed to be something different and provide another perspective (it succeeded in that).

We don't have any proven statistics about the VCA, but it is sure popular outside the org. Lots of people, who never post on this forum, nevertheless vote in the VCA. Let them elect the judges as well.
Anyway, running something big manually is inconvenient.
You say "we don't have proven statistics about the VCA" but you claim that "it is sure popular outside the org". Hence, I can't really see how you can say in bold, as if it was some sort of hard and fast fact that, "Lots of people, who never post on this forum, nevertheless vote in the VCA". For all we know, it could be the opposite and only the regular forum members ever vote. Again, because we aren't privy to the information, I really think you should just quit while your ahead (if ever).

I agree on having more judges for the next one. Especially since there's a good chance that a judge (or judges) will be dis-qualified in judging a particular category if their video is up for nomination.

I look at the JCAs as an alternative or complement to the VCAs. Kinda like the Academy Awards versus the MTV Movie Awards. Each one has pluses and minuses and as such, different results will occur. The voting pool, judging criteria, and methodology are different enough that I'd actually be surprised if both contests had the same winners.
