I think the Saturday morning AUSA contest screening from last November was a SVHS source as well. Really, you can't tell the difference unless you're in the know.irriadin wrote:Wow. @vic - I assume if a video is submitted as "undecided" then you decide which category it will go in?

That is correct. Also, if a majority of the pre-screening judges decide that a video would do better in a different category, it will get moved regardless of what category it was submitted to.MikeJh06 wrote:@vic - I assume if a video is submitted as "undecided" then you decide which category it will go in?

My internets were down this morning. It was fixed around 12:45. Hooray for summer and oversaturated cable nodes.irriadin wrote:Is the FTP server down or something? Trying to upload but the connection is timing out...

I'm still getting an error. Must be a DNS thing. I'm guessing you're using some kind of dynamic ip address translation like "no-ip". Hopefully it fixes itself on my end soon.VicBond007 wrote:My internets were down this morning. It was fixed around 12:45. H'lo, I'll be submitting too. I'm also finding that impossible right now, mainly because the sign up page for submitting by FTP does not seem to be working. Am I the only one having this problem? If the problem persists, will we be able to submit electronically other ways?
EDIT: It seems to have fixed itself.
Also, while I recognize that the rules greatly encourage submitting 720/480 MPEGs, will submitting things that don't fit those guidelines hurt our chances? I don't think I've got any choice but to submit something that's currently 1080p if I'm going to submit anything at all.

Even though my IP didn't change, I just renewed it to be safe.irriadin wrote:I'm still getting an error. Must be a DNS thing. The guidelines are there so that I don't catch hell when some creator finds out that I'm, God forbid, not presenting every video in 1080p with 5.1 surround sound. Anything that you submit that doesn't adhere to the guidelines will be converted by ME. It will not hurt your chances of getting in if your entry is not 100% compliant. This isn't ACen. THIS. IS. Re: The Otakon 2011 Thread
Fantastic, glad to hear it, sorry to cause you more work, submitting right now. On a side note, that may be the most enthusiastic response to a technical question I've ever heard.VicBond007 wrote:The guidelines are there so that I don't catch hell when some creator finds out that I'm, God forbid, not presenting every video in 1080p with 5.1 surround sound. EDIT: Looks like I successfully submitted. Any confirmation of this, Vic?
Thanks again.
