Re: Project NeoEditor [Results & Bonus Round - Deadline Aug 18]
Just a reminder that videos are due TONIGHT at 11:59 CST PM. But as long as I have them before I leave for the anime club meeting [where we're judging them tomorrow] at about 9 AM, that's fine too.

Do we get penalized for not using any wildcards at all?
I'm almost done and only just remembered about it....>__>

Were we supposed to give it a particular name?
I just left it as the project name and slapped it onto FTP...it's uploading right now :3

Re: Project NeoEditor [Results & Bonus Round - Deadline TODAY]
The viewing went really well. I've got to add everything up real quick though. Also important is that I didn't vote/judge in any of this, it was all audience vote. Believe it or not, these three entires got some massive applause. It turned out really well too. We had about 60 people show up for the meeting and about 45ish stay for the contest voting.
The awards for this round are:
Overall 1st Place [All scores averaged together and winner of first place prize]

Re: Project NeoEditor [Results & Bonus Round - Deadline TODAY]
The scores are a little higher than what PE usually gets, but remember that this is mostly audience voting. I can tell the film department members scored ya'll down significantly in some areas, but the averages are still really good.
Just a few notes about the club voting
1) We have an AMV segment, so they've seen quite a number of AMV's in the past. The only who hadn't is our new members, but they've seen probably in the rance of 15 or so from our few meetings this summer. I didn't just throw them to the dogs.
2) I explained how I wanted sync judged and a majority of them understood what I meant.
3) The film department members are picky bastards. I cannot believe the number of questions I had after this. >_<
4) While I'm sure most of them don't know what "editing" is like, I have shown them "AMV Editing 101" at a panel we did last semester. So they kind of know the basics?

Audience Reactions
gotenks794: General laughter, all the geeks repeating "ATTACK ITS WEAK POINT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE" and a pretty good reception.
LantisEsucdo: General silence, one guy screaming "HOLY CRAPBALLS, THATS OLD" at one point, finally pretty loud applause, and a few film students stood up and whistled.
AimoAio: "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW", and pretty much every girl in the audience coming up and asking for a copy of the AMV.
Our next club online newsletter will be offering downloads of your videos. They all got really great responses
Also, did you know that if you leave your AMV on repeat AimoAio, it looks like the AMV is just starting a new segment. It's like Nya's lobsters AMV. xD

Congratulations to all of our contestants. I will contact our prize coordinator and get your grab bag shipped to you ASAP Lantis. You also have the honor of creating the opening round of Project NeoEditor 2, which will begin in early July 2011, and will be bigger and better than ever before, I assure you.
I have decided a few things, however, regarding the new Project NeoEditor 2. Not everything is set in stone, but these few things are:
*Wildcard will NOT exist.
*Judging method for Group B will be the primary judging method for a majority of the rounds. This was concluded by both this round 7, as well as going back over the previous rounds.
*Eliminations will be based on an average of your CUMULATIVE scores of all your videos AND your current video's score. Meaning if contestant A had a cumulative score of 89.5 and a current video score of 80.2 and contestant B had a cumulative score of 70.5 and a current video score of 80.2, then contestant B would be eliminated.
*There will be 5 judges next year. I will NOT be one of them. I will begin screening/applying for judges about a month before the contest begins.
*Rounds will not be as specific/troublesome.

The thread will be locked at the end of the Friday night, but if you have ANY comments you'd like to make about Project NeoEditor, or ways you think it could be made better. Please pm me in the next week or so if you wish for it to be privately mentioned. I'm going to begin coordinating next year's contest very shortly, so please get it to me ASAP.
Thanks for all the support and entries. Next year will be the greatest EVER, and will be at a much bigger scale and probably will have a lot more involvement. So PREPARE!
