And the rules at http://sakuracon.org/contests/amv/docum ... _rules.php show besides the previous mentioned also:

17: Entries must have been made during the time elapsed since the end of
Sakura-Con 2006

The first thing should be obvious, but the second can add some invalid entries for people who has only read the rules in the Sakura-con website. ;)
Ok well as I didnt catch it on the website and to change it now would possibly invalidate entries, in the interest of fairness I will let the typo stand with the after Sakura-Con 2006 date

I'm in!
This will be my second cotest so I'm all fired up!
Already have one video radey and i'm hpoing to have 2 mroe ready before the deadline.
Oh and a quick question: we can enter three videos, do they have to be in different genres?
This is how I see things:
A bad AMV makes it look easy
A good AMV makes it look fun
A great AMV makes it look hard
However, the best AMVs make it look impossible

Your going to miss the larged sized AMV room... We got TONS of stuff planned... and to not be at the AMV contest.. Shame on you waffle... :P

Vlad
hmmm, i am thinking about it now... Just not sure about getting a hotel. $130+ a night is a little steep for just me. If it was that, id probably only stay one night.

Purplepolecat and I are going again---last year was our first time there and we had an absolute BLAST. I'm so excited that we'll have a larger room for viewing amv's this year...great work, guys!

If you can scrape the money together, I'd highly recommend going. :D

Hm...FTP's not working for me.

Keeps freezing when I try it in IE. Firefox never worked for me for FTP's, and the program I use FTPSurfer...keeps trying to connect over and over.

Sorry, bleh.

it needs to be connected to in active not passive mode, I dont know how to do that in a web browser

WSFTP LE lets you uncheck the passive box when entering the connection info

we are also looking into moving the FTP Server

Yeah, I made sure to switch off PASV mode in my program, but still no luck.

Not sure how to do it in browser either. First time I tried in IE it connected but booted me, then after that it would just freeze up.

Ok, we are working on the FTP and moving it, if you can send it online via another means like rapidshare, etc, I will have no problems downloading it

Also I found the reasons for the Rules Typos, When the new site was being done they had an older copy of the amv page files and when they uploaded those they overwrote the rules

As such the new rules Will be going back up, but my decesion to let the made after 2006 con date stand

Hm, when will the FTP server be up?

Reason is, I'm planning on sending HuffYUV files which are 2gigs +

I mean...I could compress it down to xvid and upload it to FileFront if absolutely necessary but I'd rather not, hehe.

Well, there's about a month left until deadline so we'll see, I guess.
