So, what's the deal with the V-Mix competition? Are you just showing the winners of awards at the con? Are those going to be announced the day of?
Me and my staff have already decided on winners for specific awards that will be announced during the V-Mix Awards ceremony that will take place a few hours after the AMV contest. During that time slot, we will play all the winners in the AMV room (that seats a total of 381 people btwTigrin wrote:Congrats to the finalists!![]()

Yea, that tends to be the problem. Open debate juries can lead to all sorts of fun things when you have aggressive and passive folks together in a group, like coercion bias, echo chambers, deal making, etc. Ultimately, some people have more of a say than others.kireblue wrote:... Nah. It wasn't a problem. I was being a little facetious. I actually enjoy this type of judging and prefer it over anything else. Everyone in our group was allowed to express their opinion and fight for the vids that they felt strongly about. All of us are actually friendsBasharOfTheAges wrote:Yea, that tends to be the problem. Yeah! Just beat each other over the head with the stick for the back "talking", haha.Rider4Z wrote:I recommend using a "talking stick" for heated debates like this
Nah, everyone knows there's only one way to settle any dispute;Rider4Z wrote:I recommend using a "talking stick" for heated debates like this
I don't go to Momo voting because I like to enter and frankly that would be a conflict of interests. That said I've been around this crew for years and other events of this sort. The Momo format is not dissimilar to most other judgings I have attended and I will attest it's the most "fun" (if that's an appropriate term.) Doing the vote in that kind of less formal setting allows for a lot of open discussion and tends to result in some great decisions. And trust me, no one in that group is soft spoke about their opinions.... for better or worse.kireblue wrote:Nah. It wasn't a problem. I was being a little facetious. We have known and worked with each other for years, and are more than comfortable with voicing disagreements. And if someone failed to voice their opinion about a video, we directly asked them.
