Giton: Ouch, that's a couple friends of mine you're calling dull or lazy there...then again one of them got a 4 on her finals in Realschule for German Grammar so maybe I shouldn't be talking...

Fortunately they teach English to you guys at a good age when it's still in the valid critical learning period. When I was in school, we didn't start languages until we were 13-14 and it was too late. Having had to start again at 19 was challenging to say the least.

As far as weird things go...I guess I'll just include a note saying subs available upon request for some things. Could be worse, though. Apparently the German script for RENT is one of the worst translations ever done in the history of German theatre...I kinda like it though, it's a more figurative interpretation rather than literal one, meaning that while some of the lines seem silly to those familiar with the original, it's still a neat way to think about the show.

As for Joker, I wish him well in the contest.

And now to sleep and think about how to fix problems.

RENT?
You mean the musical?
Honestly we Germans aren't so much into musicals, classic theatre, like thw works of Göthe, Schiller, Tieck and others, or opera is still perferred.

Well, grades say hardly anything, a friend of mine got a 5 on his finals in Realschule for English but nonetheless he understands most of it.
And German Grammar is really a nasty concern :?
Totally illogical, thats why I love Japanese :P

...

Also, ziemlich viel was ihr da zusammengeschrieben/erklärt/vorgestellt habt.

n paar Trigun Rips ohne Subs :?

Ah well I don`t know how many times I`ve mentioned that I`m pretty lazy
so I won`t give you an english translation/summary of this post heh. :P
Or wait: I`ll edit the translation into the post with the edit button.
"What Edit Button?"
Shhh...

Right.
In Fact I have some ideas, but I think I`ll begin editing in some days as a test AMV.
If it looks good, I won`t release it till deadline(*g*) and if it looks stupid
I`ll try reading the guides which explain the problems I can see in the test AMV.

Btw I already had all Trigun rips but I deleted them by mistake -_-

how to find those amv makers

Post by [lmt]_lucas » Fri Apr 11, 2003 4:31 am

Considering there may be a bunch of amv creators from diffrent countries coming to Connichi we should come up with some way of recognizing each other (I know we differ from 'normal' people, but some might just miss it :P ).
What kid of ID it could be? The topic is open for suggestions...
Let me know what you think.

Your absolutely right, Lucas, and I already thought about this issue, too.

Right now I'm "programming" on a German community page for AMV creators and I considered to create (or let somebody else create) a sort of printable button and make it available for download there.

Guess thats the best solution or did you have something else in mind?

Exactly what I meant. Just make sure it's big and shiny and colorful and pretty and has a cute bunny girl on it. :D
