On general principle, I don't think there'd be any issue especially if the focus is on the action up front as a broadcast of the awards themselves with an emphasis on stuff like the winners, crowd reaction, etc. Parking a streaming camera on the screen in main or VAT itself and it rapidly veers in the direction of "not a chance." I'll see if I can get a more definitive answer out of someone with more authority.

Organization, planning, and personibility on the mic is another thing entirely though.

Well, if anyone has mastered cloning tehcnology, I can just get cloned and run everything myself :P

Yea, your right, I could enter PRO, but as a Director I feel that still no right. But I don't see any reason Staff Can't.

We do however have a good bunch of staff in the VAT. I just wish I could snag several of them for Sakura-Con next year. I could use more there

Thanks! The focus would be up front, pointed at Jingoro and the award recipients. I know someone always posted the winners via IRC but I think people might enjoy seeing a video feed from the awards ceremony
Gimme a minute, I'll make a cool one....

Lantis and I are planning on coming out to Sakura-Con this coming year if you need help. Thought you had a bunch there already though.

One must be very carefull with crowd shots. If the polices of the con state if you buy a pass you agree to be videod you're fine, however if not be carefull with liability of crowed shots. I already know of two events where someone was threatenign legal action becasue they were caught on video as part of the audience.

It is really sad when this becomes a liability, but it's reality

I lost two staff, including my night time person as we do run 24 hours. So I need to replenish.

Just keep in mind if you two do come out and want to be staff for the AMV section, you'd not be able to participate in the AMV contest. BUT then again I do need good judges there too, and can use people I've already worked with. sooooo....

True, which is why I probably won't do crowd shots. This would just be of Daric announcing the winners and any winners going up to pick up their award. But if I can't do that I can just keep it to typing the results into IRC. at the same time I'm a 3rd party not affiliated with the con doing the recording. So the question would be can the con be held responsible for something someone else recorded?

If you are an attendee then the worst you can usually do is break thier policy and get a warning.

However if it is arranged with someone on staff, it's the cons liability.. However if it's just on the stage it shoud be fine provided the higher ups at AWA are fine with it
