Congrats to all the winners

you won Staff Favorite. there was no judge's favorite this year.
i really appreciate all the work people behind the scenes put into making the amv showings happen. i agree, the concourse hall wasn't the greatest room for the contest, i preferred where the second rescreen was over it, and Nokia of course over that but i understand why Miku took precedent over amvs. a big thank you to Michael and Nikki for putting the show together, and props for grabbing a third showing of the contest with the 2nd room already being maxed out with tons of people still waiting. i'm also blown away by the attendance of AMV Chef and Pro. Neidenbach's Phantasmagorical AMV Show. (nic mentioned he honestly thought AX was gonna make him change the name XD)
i am astounded by the popularity that seemed to come out of nowhere. not having a huge theater really raised level of demand for amvs at AX. rock on seriously.
i'm in somewhat agreement with niotex about the pro category. i saw plenty of "pro" videos in the regular categories, and many were even more professional than a couple that made pro. personally, because the level of skill that seems to be coming on a regular basis, i think we could do away with the pro category altogether and replace it with "Upbeat".
the OVA category was weird lol. but it worked and the audience loved it. (aside from the punks that would leave right after comedy. AX should seriously enforce a rule that if you want to go to the contest you should have to stay for the whole thing

)
all in all, kick ass year for AMVs
i did mention to the funimation booth in the vendor hall when i picked up Summer Wars, i bought it specifically because of an amv i saw in the contest

(big congrats neko kitkat, you deserve it)
