Re: Youmacon 2009 Music Video Contest Rules
The mailing of the awards has been left to the whims of the members of the con controlling the flow of money. As of this time, and I'm quite sorry about this, funds have not been provided for shipping awards from last years contest. If you, or anyone who has received an award would like to work something out with me personally, such as paying for postage yourself then I can work with you, in private. Also, if you are attending a convention that I will be at (such as Matsuricon this weekend) then contact me so I can have your award(s) on hand.
As always, if you will be attending Youmacon this year you can pick up any awards that have not been shipped out in the VAT during the convention. Awards for this year will be available after the awards ceremony at con if you miss the awards ceremony.

I see. Unfortunately, I can't go to any other cons.
But if it's shipping costs, I think I can see what I can do to pay for that. Do you know how much it would cost? I'll also wait until this con is over, in case, so I can just pay for it all at once.

You can submit a change of information request for the video. If I feel the change is valid I will allow it.

Re: Youmacon 2009 Music Video Contest Rules
This is a friendly warning that you have a little over 1 month to get your video(s) into the contest. Remember because of the way the system is setup you have until Midnight on October 10th (1 min after 11:59 PM October 9th) to submit your entry form and FTP request. From that point on you have until the end of the weekend to get your video(s) into my hands. This includes both FTP and standard snail-mail.

Re: Youmacon 2009 Music Video Contest: 1 Month Warning!
As we have started getting an influx of more videos and videos of this type I would like to take this time to lay to rest something that may concern you all related to how judging will work.
As we have no restriction on what apsect ratio that we will accept and I have openly stated that we can handle HD videos, we have begun seeing HD videos being submitted to the contest. However this raises a question when it comes to how we will judge these HD videos when put up against SD videos. Since visual quality is one of the things our judges will look over (as we employ a combination of at con attendee judging and pre-con judge judging) it should then be noted that SD videos will only be judged for their video quality according to SD quality standards. However, HD video will be judged according to HD video standards, which of course are much higher then SD standards.
While we gladly accept HD videos, we feel the need to inform you of this facet of judging to ensure you realize what will be expected of an HD video.

That's fine, make upscalefags realize at their own expense that upscaling SD content to HD if not mixed to actual HD footage is just meaningless and lowers the quality.ngsilver wrote:As we have started getting an influx of more videos and videos of this type I would like to take this time to lay to rest something that may concern you all related to how judging will work.
