Ten Days to AWA 12 Expo and SAST contest deadlines!

i got like 30 videos im entering... is it ok if i fill out the information when im off work either sunday or monday, even if you get the video saturday, I'll try to get the info filled out saturday morning, but i might not be able to get online...

The site will stop accepting video info tomorrow night. You must have video info submitted to be able to request an ftp account (one per video).

There are 3 videos on my DVD that thanx to Add's piece of crap comp did not get burned propperly. I left a note in my CD case, but good luck reading it.

Will the FTPed vids (I have already applied for upload) over-ride those files?

I'm so glad I don't wait until the last minute. I've learned over the years. And I've finally gotten the Mail Gods to behave as well.

Erg... likely what will happen is it will complicate things and confuse people. Send a note, detailing which vids work and which don't, to the awavat e-mail address provided on the website. It may take some back-and-forthing and double-checking between us, but we'll try to get all the working ones indexed properly.

I blame the computer gremlins that inhabit all MS based software causing me to reformat ever time I am ready to export for con. That and Koop, because he's an easy target.

For SAST, is it okay to use a segment I made for a previous MEP, as long as that project has not competed at AWA ? I know that's the case for Expo, but wanted to double-check as far as SAST is concerned.

I initially said yes, that's fine, since I had no idea what kind of a response to expect to the new contest. We're actually getting rather flooded now, but I'm not about to change the rules midway. However, I still reserve the right to trim a bit, but it will be along the "Expo" style trimming: that is, if we have to drop some videos for time constraint, we will drop first from those who have entered multiple multiple videos, so please be clear about which vids you most want to participate and which you're more ambivalent about. Presumeably, everyone would like their new work to be shown ahead of their previous projects, so that's just something to keep in mind.

To be clear: since this contest is designed to be judged in an hour by the audience at the awards ceremony, the running total time of the project may have to be abridged. Everyone who entered will get a segment shown (so long as they're OK for general viewing), but everyone who entered lots of videos may not get all of them shown. (Some of y'all are entering like 20 clips!) We've got a block for showing everything on Sunday, but the contest will be over then.

Will you be posting as to which videos will be shown in the Expo (since I doubt you will play them all)?
