Well, we finally got the FTP access up and running.

amv.headgear.org - anonymous login. Upload whatever you like. If possible, either email me or upload a text file with what you're submitting to (HMV contest, AMV theme contest, or showcase) and the pertinent info on your video.

We have also determined that the prizes for the various contests will be engraved cowbells. There will also be a mystery prize for the HMV contests.

Anyway, so if you have a fever, and the only prescription is Cowbell, then hustle up and submit. Your deadline is December 31st.

My AMV (titled "Furious Angel") is hateful if you look at it in a certain way... I guess. Would you rather I not upload it, or that I upload it, you look at it, and then you make a call on its true level of "hateful-ness"?

Hmmm... this is making me rethink the context of my AMV entirely...

I don't think really that the theme contest itself is a terrible idea in itself but rather that announcing your theme approximately a month before the deadline.

Also it does seem like you have two themed contests as one is hentai specifc and then having one that is based on hate. Its really quite restricting not only on the creators but also on audiences. While not impossible to be original, you are going to see mostly action and action/drama hybrids.

So I don't really think that you guys are doing a bad job, as it is nice that you guys are finally adding a contest, but I think you might want to consider based on the reaction to this year.

Note I necroposted this....it was announced a LONG time ago. Like...5 months?

Also note that there is still a non-competing showcase that will be available for any and all videos (that meet the criteria outlined on the website that I'm too lazy to link to at the moment). So don't despair, send in your videos, the more, the merrier I say!
