Re: Animethon 22 (2015) AMV Contest!

Just sent in my AMV, whooo!!! :D :D :D

But, my excitement is hampered by how the competition might play out, so I'm left feeling unsure, hoping for a podium finish! :)

(By podium I mean a top 3 finish)

I think that competitions like this are the kind of things that you can't really enjoy until you've successfully emerge victorious, if you even manage to do so. What dominates until that point if it does come, is uncertainty of unparalleled magnitude. I can only hope for the best.

Well, I may have a comedy idea but it just barely makes the 30 second mark. Is that okay? I have an idea to extend it but no guarantees it'll work.

so long as it's at least 30 seconds and meets the rules then it would be fine...

okay. I saw the 30 second rule and was pretty sure it would be fine but still got concerned. This is listed as exactly 30 seconds. Maybe 30.4 seconds tops XD If my extension idea doesn't work that is

It's not a race, man. Personally, I'm happy if people get to see my videos at all.

Submitted two... I was a bit confused that there was only one URL box for two possible entries, though. I went ahead and put the second link in the comments box.

I never said it was a race, I meant that I can't really enjoy AMV competitions until I've actually won. It's not a race, it's a contest to see who made the best AMVs. Secondly, if its a competition, why do we compete? We compete for victory, not just for mediocrity or fun. This quote empowers me in otherworldly amounts:

"By being a racing driver you are under risk all the time. By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing, we are competing to win. And the main motivation to all of us is to compete for victory, it's not to come 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th. I race to win as long as I feel it's possible. Sometimes you get it wrong? Sure, it's impossible to get it right all the time. But I race designed to win, as long as I feel I'm doing it right."
