Not sure if my video (which was an overflow video) ended up being reclassified as an Upbeat video a la Anime Expo. If it was the case, then I definitely see why I didn't make the cut, as the Upbeat category definitely was the highlight of the contest.

Congrats to the winners.

Hey VicBond007:

The .Org doesn't seem to have Otakon 2015 up in the "contest list" or "conventions" page. Do you know what needs to happen to get Otakon2015 listed?

The results posted by dragontamer5788 are correct and official.

The Best in Overflow video was "If Only" by MadMegatax.
Audio was "If Only" by ODESZA
Video was Yurikuma Arashi.

"The Best Will Continue Until Morale Improves" was far and away the Best In Show this year. It seemed like the ballots had a lot of 30's in the BIS box.

And yet it didn't finish in the top 2. I was thinking this was going to be the winner, but nope.

Also, this year's Content Notice/Warning read as follows:

"The Otakon 2015 AMV Contest features plot spoilers, senseless violence, girls in skimpy outfits, Pokemons, wub-wubstep, a musical chicken, this year's popular Disney song, hot dogs gone wild, feline badassery, a robot that just wants to play volleyball, and a salty stick. It's that awesome. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!"

Biggest surprise and most pleasing upset of the contest was Drabaz's "When I See You Again" beat the favorite "Call to Arms" to win Drama/Serious. I am so proud of Doug! I was worried his video wasn't going to win because of some questionable audience reactions at some points of the video -- what can I say, Team Four Star may have corrupted a lot of anime fans -- but I am very happy this video took home 1st Place.

Also, the chicken song in Comedy was awesomely catchy as hell among AMV Theater Staff, and also it looks like "Immortals" has become that one pop song that gets stuck in your head after the contest (much like "The Phoenix" (aka "The Penis Song") from last year and "Radioactive" from two years ago)....

I loved how this year's contest turned out. Just loved it.

Muahaha  my plan all along. choose current fall out boy song and set AMV to autopilot. that's not true, yato's god complex was a bigger pain to compile than i imagined.

I am happy to hear Drabaz's amv won. I personally really enjoy his work. Also it's always a pleasure to see old anime make its way into amv contests with current anime animation. I am sorry if I caused a upset of any sort. But regardless I am so glad he won, he makes great dbz amvs. Even though I am not the biggest fan of the series he certainly knows how to capture character relationships and build upon it. So CONGRATS, its an award well earned ^_____^

I'm glad to hear people loved my Kingdom Hearts amv though! I admit I was wary since I haven't really edited with videogame footage plus this song was a huge undertaking. I felt it had to be something on a grand scale and It had to be "epic." Not sure if I accomplished it but I am happy that audiences seem to enjoy it and that in itself is the best reward ^_^

I was never really into Kingdom Hearts myself, but that video was so good that I was forming a list of people I needed to show it to as soon as I got home.

First off, Congrats to all the Finalists! It was a terrific show!
I'm so glad my videos are able to compete with all you titans of AMVs. I know I'm not the best editor, but I think my passion for Dragon Ball gives me the boost I need to stand a chance :D

Thanks Jeremy :D I feel more honored than you know! Unfortunately from the reactions though it seems that peoples perception of Krillin is so bad that they laughed during the times he died in the video lol. It caught me off guard, but now I can see why they laughed. I just hope I made a few people think of Krillin in a better way than just the joke of the series.

 Thanks Kat! I really appreciate it! It put a smile on my face to see your name and mine as the top two videos of the category.

Dragontamer5788 and alexmichur00's video was by far the most deserving of Best in Show! He gave me a draft of the video a few months back and I was obsessed with it ever since! I knew if they submitted it to a contest it would win, no problem! It was really great seeing it on the big screen with hundreds, if not thousands of other people who agreed this video was amazing!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it wasn't that they were laughing at his death, but, rather, they thought you were going with an implied yaoi subtext angle.

I was on the same line of thinking as well when I heard all the laughing.

Of course, as someone who usually imagines myself as an emcee of the Otakon AMV Contest and thinks of a witty thing to say following the video if I were one, my post-video joke following "When I See You Again" would have been the "Krillin Owned Count".

I'm sure Troy already told you, but you surprised the crap out of Vlad with Call to Arms. I mean he's seen em all... and he was like "wait... a kingdom hearts video that's actually good??"

You made the king of kingdom hearts videos in my opinion, so you automatically win
