... In an attempt to get things back on-track again.

While I understand DP is extremely busy at this time. When can we expect updates on the submissions? An estimation would even be nice.

i don't think confirmations are high on DPs priority list at the moment, especially now that the deadline has passed and learning a video wasn't received or is unplayable wouldn't do any good. also, i wouldn't expect the finalists to be posted until sometime in june. (i would hope early june but i'm not gonna hold my breath.) :amv:

Well I definitely got yours, (Since you emailed me the deets. :))

As for the rest, I hope to have them all int he drive by the end of the month. There are one or two of you I will be contacting directly because your split videos did weird shit in Premiere.
LC Lapen in particular. Do you have a NON-split Non-Huffy version fo your video you can shoot me a link to?

As a heads up...next year, the option to submit your video split (Audio and video in separate files) is going away. Back when systems and file types were prone to massive interleaving issues causing synch glitches...that option made sense. Now, with H.264 and current versions of various codecs, not to mention much more powerful processors...the need isn't so great. Plus it adds ALOT of time to the capturing process if I have to take the entry into Premiere Pro and attempt to rejoin them then re-render so they can even make it through initial judging let alone final presentation. Fortunately there are only a few of you who took that option this year. Ok rambling mode off.
back to capturing after I go get food.

I don't really care much for your opinion to be honest. However while I understand that DP is indeed a busy man at this time. It would be in his and everyone best interest to get the video's sorted out well ahead of time. We don't want playback problems 2 weeks prior to the contest. Which would obviously be an even more stressful time [crunch time]for a man in his position.

So while I appreciate the reply, you are excused.

Thank you for the swift reply.

I'm sure a lot of people will be put at ease knowing what time frame to look forward to. I hope you'll be able to go through all the submissions accordingly. I know the feeling of organizing a contest like this all too well though. [I at one point did 3 annually, currently only doing 1] To be fair I always had and have different duty's alongside it then you do currently. But knowing the workload I hope you'll manage. I wish you good luck sorting through everything.

We've usually gotten the finalists posted around memorial day ever since Michael took over unlike past years where we wouldn't even get them till a week or days/hours/minutes/seconds/microseconds before the con.

Hey let's not bring back the awful memories. :P

Edit: Wait did everyone get confirmations? I'm assuming from DP's post that got it all of it was sorted out and sent. Also my hard drive just crashed today when my computer somehow just blue screened after taking it out of standby and refused to start up properly anymore. One of my videos was already uploaded for Fanime so I'm in the clear about that, but I'm worried about my other entry since Michael has the last legit copy, other then the external hard drive that's 300 miles away in Arizona (don't ask why lol). So I'm somewhat concerned now. :|

thanks mom, but if you don't want other's comments or input you should be pming DP personally. i'm just trying to give an honest answer and it isn't my fault if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. i'll make an effort to not reply to your concerns anymore, and if you truly don't care what i have to say then i'd appreciate the same courtesy.
