Re: Wai-con 2009 AMV competition rules
unofficial results because I came in part way through the closing ceremony after ducking off to the pub >.> so some of this "might" not be correct
Drama/romance: oropherzero - possibly the pheonix video (i only saw 2 of your entries action and drama i thought you had a 3rd entry that was also drama o.O)
Audience favourite (best game video as well i think if the category wasn't changed): fizziks - clan warfare! pwnge - there were many audience lol's
Best comedy/parody: Corpse goddess(?) - a death note video of some sort (i only saw it at the closing ceremony and was told canadian chick had won and I'm guessing that's corpsegoddess), i missed the actual screening as i was helping lockstock with his pannel (mostly by choking on the mentos and having the atendees laugh at me going beetroot and having tear streaming down my face for lack of oxygen... and they offered me cough drops)at the same time in a room not in the main theatre. I think this video was moved from the drama category to comedy.
Best action/horror & judges choice: Gothik - by Maximoffzero, Meteor Dragon & myself
Iron Editor (aka Iron Chefu): err... that was me as well >.>, runner up was Jake ... not sure who jake is on the .org
Some noteable entries (that stuck in my mind at least when I wasn't ICing) Life of a dog II by victoria something, I'd like to get a hold of this actually. and a within temptation vid as well... honnestly i don't remember who made it or what it was even called x_x i just remember liking it. I had about 3 hours sleep at the time so err sorry

Yeah, that was me. And yet again, my drama submission gets moved to comedy and wins.
I don't get it. lol.

Re: Wai-con 2009 AMV competition rules
hmm yeah I would have liked a copy of the WT scrapped princess and the FMA greenday AMVs but I think they are both local entries?
And yeah Clan Warfare completely won the audience over, there was so much cheering that I thought fizziks might have gotten a standing ovation for a moment there XD kudos to you fizziks for entering the vid, always fun to watch something like that with a huge audience.
Finally this pic is a pretty good representation of the audience at the AMV competition because to my surprise, the cosplay audience came back and the AMV competition on Saturday was pretty damn full around me. Maybe just minus the people right up the back past the AV booth.
See nice screening room in the main theatre isn't it? So next year I hope to see more international entries in the contest =)

shite i thought the same thing heh all the better i was wrong.... that means you're a girl O.O seriously I thought you were a guyOropherZero wrote:oh they were yours, and here I was thinking that we had some amazing new talent in Perth XD good job on the vids I liked them.

As I commented to prYzm who was sitting next me that was the best scrapped princess vid I've ever seen, the judges quite liked them too from the snipetts I heard. Heh i was actually prewarned to look out for them as they were well worth watching.
And I think a few ppl did stand up with the cheering at the end of fizzik's vid but it didn't catch on like a mexican wave unfortunately.
but i've learned to watch out for oropher at cons, i left my seat next to prodigi & lockstock for all of a minute and like a cat he invoked the 10 second rule and stole it

Rider4z: there were so many entries that they had to open up another screening slot on the second day to fit them all in, but yours were all screened on the first day when the massive theatre was packed.
