Upload it to me and let me take a look. 8 minutes is a bit long, but in the grey area and so we might be able to do something. I am willing to take it under discussion and review as I have always felt that 8 minutes or less is fine for a video. What we were trying to avoid was allowing people to pick an extremely long song and sending it in to monopolize time or aggrivate the crowd. Likely if the MRS system is successful, we may be able to eliminate the time constraint in future years. It is something that has been on my mind since videos which contain multiple songs/artists became popular.Ah... I guess it will take 8 minutes and I don´t really want to cut down the storyline with taking out a segment. There is too much work in it for ripping it apart into pieces. Well one part would fit as a stand alone amv, but I´m not sure if I should cut it out and send it in.
You are very welcome. That´s a pretty nice turn from you: Thx
I understand. Content vs. contest audience and rules are a tough thing to balance for both creators and for those who run a contests. For me, the excessive content issue is slightly subjective. For example, I have more issues with adult pornographic style content than I do with raw violence, provided that violence exists as part of the necessary content of the video and not for gratuitous means. The problem with the most of my videos is the content. There are so many contests that are PG16 or a "family event" as they often say. So I can´t really send the amv in and also I don´t want it to show to little kids, you know?
Now I have an amv that is at least PG16 and that is much more longer than 6 minutes. There aren´t many contests were I can enter.
So I´m anoyed for personal reasons at all.
We don't card for our events so we have to be careful what we show and how we show it. In most cases, we find that a simple announcement or splash warning screen before the video is usually sufficient to allow parents to remove their children from the room if they might have potential issues. Additionally, we try to keep the stronger material towards the end of the event where possible.
Since I do not like to stiffle creativity in any form, please send the video to me or post it for review so we can discuss it.
I am not sure what you mean here. I can assure you that I take into account as much feedback as I can get. Granted not everyone gets what they want, but as a whole I like allowing the fan community to decide what the events look like and what the rules are.I´ll post that again. There is still something that makes me feel fishy.
Given the length of this discussion, I think the rest of it is better had offline via email. So please drop me a line at vse@a-kon.com if you would like to continue it.
I hope to hear from you soon.
