On April 1 at midnight, anyone worth their salt should be at the movie theater, watching Sin City for the 3rd or 4th time that day

x2.

Actually, that's not true. I won't get to see Sin City till about April 20th or so. But boy do I plan on seeing it multiple times to make up for the delay...

Eh, fuck it. I'm gonna make my Iron Chef of DOOM video all shiny. And is there any restrictions on the amount of violence that can be in the video?

Well...I would LIKE to enter this contest as I am just finishing up my AMV. However I still need to find out how the HELL I make a VCD and how to make a MPEG-2 format vid (sad...I know...but I have never done it before :P )

If anyone has MSN and can help me on this (I know...such a sad state I am in when it comes to encoding) then use the following email for adding me as a contact --> iceman.f1@gmail.com

as an added incentive, if you need a gmail account, for helping me I will send you an invite

Maybe later I'll see it some more. Just saw press screening yesterday and loved it.

As to ACen's contest, sending out entry today in hopes of being shown. heh.

I'll be sending mine by Express Post on Monday... All I need to do is burn it to a disc and package it...

Uh... why would you want to make a VCD? It's not on the list of accepted media. Just encode an MPEG-2 file and burn it to a normal data CD-R.

(I've done up a guide to encoding your AMV to MPEG for conventions using TMPGEnc, in case it helps anyone.)

As far as the April 1st deadline goes, is that a postmark deadline, or an actual physically-in-the-hands deadline? o_o

Because I need to send one into Anime North as well and this is what they want.

Please submit entries on CD-ROM or DVD in a format (CD-V or DVD) that can be played on a standard DVD Player (such as a Panasonic DVD-RV32). Ensure VHS entries are submitted on new, good quality videotapes to insure adequate reproduction. Videos that are drawn from poor source material or poorly reproduced on used videotape will not be shown.

I think I will express mine Monday as well. I'll do a confirmation thing to so I know it got there in time. It would suck a lot if it did not make it. Perhaps I should do airmail on Sunday. :\
