:l well pro is only taking 1 vid this year it seems, I think it was more (3?)last year. So 1 for pro 1 for masters (if you can) and anything for expo is how awa is looking this year. Masters doesn't have a time limit, time to make that vid to Pink Floyd's The Wall

i think i agree with Ian in that pro is my favorite contest... takes the most amoutn of work from my end of things i will say ^_^... but there is somethgin about peer review...

master's always amazes me though... since people tend to expriment in masters... try for things not seen and such

That's one of the main reasons for my choosing to enter Masters- what I want to do is a bit 'out there' compared to the norm. I'll probably send in a limited tape to Expo, though. Don't figure I have any chance in hell of actually winning Masters, but the level that the other videos are sure to be at will make me push myself harder, and that's what I want. And who knows, maybe there'll be a "MY GOD, THE HAIR!!!" award created in the Expo.

I feel exactly the same way...with all three of your comments

My song for Master's is one that I can't quantify as "Action" or "Drama" and hence I'd prefer to just submit it to this and not have to deal with mis-categorization and whatnot.

Also, as you said, I think it'll push me to make a great video going up against some of the "best" and people I really respect. I've already told a number of them that I'm "using them" for motivation and to mature as an editor. I too don't at all intend to win...just to learn.

Yeah I'll be sending some stuff to Expo since well...apparently everyone does and it's always nice to see your vids...again

Can I upload the 90+ min mpeg2 to you? hehe nah I'm kidding, although I did have the idea before, and at the AX panel last year Eric korbet said he had the idea too and actually started some of it, before realizing it's too much to ask of the audience heh. I am considering a 10+ min vid though o_o

well... i would thinkt hat Master's would be the best place for that...

if it won... for the awards ceremony a short 4-5 minute segment would be used... but i am sure at some time during the con the entirerty would be shown... just not during the awards
