Re: Animethon 22 (2015) AMV Contest!
Hey Vlad! I have a question that I can't really ask here, so I've asked a curious technical question in a topic I posted on the 22nd of May: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 6&t=123148
Anyway, when it comes to resolution, I get confused whether that means native resolution should be 720p or the video must be Upscaled to 720p. The anime footage in the AMV linked in that topic is from March of 2002, its original TV airing date. I would like to know if this will get DQ'd or accepted. Thanks!

You don't really need to scale it to 720p... Older anime that that if a TV show was most likely in 720x480 resolution (4:3). if you send it in square pixels, then it would be 640x480 which is acceptable. the machines I play the contest from will auto scale to the native resolution we are playing via the projectors which will most likely be 720p. 640x480 will be acceptable provided the quality is fine. Just make sure it's encoded out in the original aspect ration which is the most important partRetroMegabyte wrote:Hey Vlad! As for quality, this will all depend on your source and what you do to it. As the contest plays on large screen, it is desirable to have a quality that is still acceptable. lots of high noticeable compression in your final encoding and artifacting during action scenes is what you want to stay away from.
As for your link, the quality on the video link you provide would be acceptable, however it's hard to judge on YouTube so I would have to see the final product (just remember, providing a you-tube or other streaming video link is not acceptable for submission of your video as per the rules)

Re: Animethon 22 (2015) AMV Contest!
Hey Vlad I got another question:
What do I put in the Signature Box, I filled out all the required contact information and AMV info, but before I submit my entry I want to know & make sure I know what to put in that field. Thanks!

Legends tell us that the mystical Signature Box is a box for your signature. Or so the stories go.RetroMegabyte wrote:Hey Vlad I got another question:
