I got on top of this right away this year. Out of ~64 AMVs that were submitted from many corners of the world, 24 have made the cut as finalists. We had pretty strong representation from Russia and Italy this year, and I really enjoy being able to present great AMVs from all corners of the world.

Congratulations to all the finalists! It's looking like every category is gonna be tough to judge. It was tough enough to determine which videos moved on to be finalists. Even some good entries couldn't make it in this year. I think some videos will be so close that my judges and I might have to adjust the granularity of our voting scheme from quarters of points to tenths of points.
What's tough for us is good for you. There will be entertaining videos in the general contest screening on Sunday that you won't see in the finalists screening on Friday. You guys should definitely consider checking out the general screening if you're on the fence. See you at the con!
