Tales of the Anime

For those who care about Tales of the Anime, here is my 'report'.

The contest was PAINFUL to watch. It's a small convention, and know there is going to be beginner videos in the contest. But when you have to watch a group of them right after each other it was diffecult. It was even harder to watch because they didn't spread/space out the videos. So you would have to watch videos using the same anime right after each other, or by the same creator. Two Digimon videos by the same creator were right next to each other. Then at the end, THREE Devil May Cry videos, all by the same creator were shown one after another.

There were 'categories' but in the end there were not many videos, so they just did 4 awards. The guests of honor each picked their favorite video, and then a fan favorite out of the 'anime' videos, and a fan favorite out of the 'game' videos.

Now there were only 3 videos that used game footage (all by the same production company and all used Devil May Cry). The Guests of honor are voice actors for Devil May Cry. So three of the awards went to Parcry Productions for their Devil May Cry videos. Which one? I don't know, they all blurred together for me. But they were rather good.

Then the rest of the videos were up against each other for Best 'Anime' video/fan favorite. Well there was only one 'comedy' video, so it wasn't a surprise that it won. This was my friend/fellow studio member Mie'aga's video 'For Play'. It's a fun video and deserved an award.

So that's the report on Tales of the Anime. It's a good little convention, and I'm sure the AMV contest will improve next year.
