That's certainly fine ... any convention that you won a video award for makes you eligible to enter the Experts Category, if you wish. Please, feel free to enter.

Well if you count fan fave at Llamacon.. hehe
We can do that, just contact the Events Staff and they'll move it for you.

Again, our coordinator informed me that virtually any convention you previously entered & won an award for qualifies you to enter the Experts Contest. If you already entered and would like your video moved to that category, just contact them and they can do that for you.

Thank for entering!

Awesome! But if I do that, can i enter a second video since expert allows two entries? And do they have to be in different categories, or doesn't matter?

You can certainly enter a second video in the Experts Contest since the limit is up to 2 entries. And it doesn't matter if it is the same category as your other video, so for instance, if they are both "action videos" then label them each as ACTION videos for that category. Hope that answers your question.

Good Luck!

Could you clarify the statement for the experts contest:

"All submissions must be a new submission to A-Kon®."

Does that mean as in never submitted to any other contest (brand new) or just not past A-Kon contests?

That just means we don't want you entering a video you submitted to Akon before in the past, whether it was for a contest or just the showcase. We're really trying to encourage brand new material to be shown at A-Kon this year. If it is a video you are also sending to multiple conventions, that's perfectly alright.

Yea.. OK, I'd love to send something in.. but this year I'll really be short on time to make anything new and my last latest one already has won a few awards so I rather not.... I should have more time next year though...
