Anyone willing to do an (H) Iron Editor?

Post by ngsilver » Wed Oct 19, 2005 1:48 am

So yeah, we got the bright idea to have an (H) Iron Editor at our con (the idea didn't start from me this time *shock*). So, I'm sending a call out to any creator who would be willing to participate in this contest at Youmacon. (convention in Troy, Michigan, on November 11-13)

(H)IE, for those that don't know, is an Iron Editor competition using Hentai footage. As such, this is an 18+ event.

The (H)IE contest will happen late night on Friday night of the con. From 1-6 AM (technically this is Saturday morning). (the first hour is setup).

So basically the only requirements I have for the editors interested in doing it is that you are at the con for the competition. You need to be willing to be up that late at night. You need to have your own editing box there (I WISH I could provide editing boxes for the editors, but the budget can't handle it).

Our editors will be recieving a panelist badge at the con, which costs 25$. I know this is really a lot to ask of an editor, especially if you decide to come to the con just for the contest. I'm trying to negotiate free badges, but it's not going well...

Anyway, if your interested in competing then please drop me a line on AIM, PM(s), or my email, ngsilver@ngsilver.com.

And for those willing, THANK YOU!

If possible, would you mind using the generic "Iron Chef AMV" name instead of "Iron Editor". When the contest first took place at Anime Weekend Atlanta five or six years ago it was known as Iron Chef AMV, but a few years later many cons and online groups began cropping up with copy-cat events all calling them Iron Chef AMV. We're tried to differentiate the event from similar ones that have sprung up, by changing the name to the "Iron Editor Challenge" a few years ago, but now it seems that folks are starting to use that name as if it's generic as well. My goal is to help link the events at Anime Weekend Atlanta, Anime USA, Otakon and Anime Central since they are organized by the same group and keep them from getting confused with the events that take place at other conventions and online. Good luck with your event. I know that getting everything organized in terms of hardware, software, footage, and coordinating with the convention staff can be alot of work.

The reason I used the term Iron Editor was to try and change the name from that of the events I've seen at Anime Central, which still calls it Iron Chef. So I'm a little confused as to what you are trying to get at.

However, it is too late in the game to do anything about how the events are named, as it has already been touted as such and our con-booklet has already hit the printers. The ball has just been moving too long to do anything about it. It's just too close to go time. ^^()

In future years I'll be sure to keep that in mind ^^

me and Pilk pretty much were the first people to do Hentai Iron Chef, we had never seen it done before and we have taken this hentai iron chef fromme vs him and gone to challenge SHN Knives, Mexican Jr., and soon Chaos Projects... we've taken this from 2 people H-iron Cheffing in an apartment, and basement, to hentai iron Chef at Jacon, and now i've been invited to this Hentai iron editor... its not the same as hentai Iron chef... almost all of the hentai Iron Chef's were either created by me or pilk, so this is quite different then hentai iron Chef, i personally like this one's Hentai iron "editor" as the title, its not Hentai Iron Chef, and its not a regular Iron Editor, this is just a bit different from both. so strap yourselves in and get ready for the hentai iron editor challenge!
