Anime Boston 2004
Did anyone here participate in last year's Anime Boston? And will anyone be jumping on board the AMV contest for 2004? What category (novice etc.)? I figure I'll be going since Boston's not too far from where I am, and am trying to assess my chances of taking part in the contest without looking like an idiot.

AMV Progress:
"D-Me" (default title until something cooler occurs to me) - uh... this one's still in the "I wanna make it" stage, but did get to 5% at one point.

I made the finals last year with Fine Again, in the Novice category.
Which category I'm in this year depends on how my current new vid (see sig) does in AUSA5. If it wins anything, then I'm journeyman by default. If I don't, then I'll have to figure out what I want, since we *are* allowed to move to a more advanced category than we normally would be in.
If your editing is half-competent, and you don't send Patrick a WMV file or anything, you'll probably get into the contest. Despite a fair share of gems in last year's competition, the overall quality was about par, maybe a little subpar. Though, I do expect the quality of the competition to increase this year, so come out with guns blazing and so on.

I'd think just being there, seeing your stuff big and suchlike would be worth it.

Oh, it is. My heartrate increased constantly during the 5 videos before mine, and was probably at a couple hundred BPM during my video.DriftRoots wrote:I'd think just being there, seeing your stuff big and suchlike would be worth it.
Of course, that was nothing compared to Otakon when I suffered several heart attacks during SYLN...
