AMV Iron Chef at FAnime

Post by Quu » Fri Jun 13, 2003 4:40 pm

Hello.... i figured i would pump the contest a little bit

At FAnime ( http://www.fanime.com ) We are holdind an AMV Iron Chef competition...
it is going to be Friday 7-10PM in the mian events room
The Iron Chef is Justin "ErMaC" Emmerson
The challenger is Tim "Doki Doki" Park

The theme of the contest is "guns" and the secret engredient... well is a secret

the source footage availible is
Neon Genesis Evangelion : End of Evangelion
Gun Smith Cats
Jin Roh
Riding Bean
Ghost in the Shell
The Making of the Ghost in the Shell Playstation game

It should be a fun contest... and i hope anybody who goes to fanime will come to see the show. Brad DeMoss is the announcer for the show... with the panel of judges still under consideration (sorry... internal choices)

for those who don't know how this works...
http://www.expertdv.com is our sponsor... and they are providng two identical Matrox X100 based editing computers... pre loaded on these computers is the source footage, and the music that both of them provide...

when the competiion begins... there is a little bit of prep... where the people are introduced.... then both editors sit down... and have two hours to make a music video....

while this goes on the judges and the announcer use that time to entertain you... since to most people watching editing for two hours is boring... so we have the best of both worlds...

then after two hours we call time... and then the judges watch the videos... and pick the winner.

So far we run Iron Chef at AWA, Anime Central, and now Fanime... maybe more next year.

So I get:
Armitage and Patlabor and they get this? Bah I say...Armitage <<<< anything on this list :). Then again I did enjoy using the source you gave me and it did work out. It was just the preparing where I had to watch Armitage and the other shows that sucked. I even fell asleep during the Armitage movies for a good 20 minutes.

I wouldn't mind watching these shows...conspiracy I say :-P j/k

The Video cards were amazing. Almost everything I wanted to do could be done in real-time and I only had one problem, that being when I crashed :(. Other than that unfortunate event, the editing went smoothly. Don't worry about the equipment part guys :).

Good luck to both of you and I wish I could attend and watch what it's like since well...the only thing I saw the entire event was a monitor and TV screen. This is a lot of fun and I look forward to it next year at ACen.

Again, good luck Justin and Tim!

Whoa! Really? All I did was press play in the Preview window, so yeah, I was a bit confused. Thank God I was able to finish losing those five minutes. You can't believe how nerve-racking it was and how much self-control it took not to scream: "FUCK!!!!" really loudly :)
