This might not be a new "event" but does AWA have a non anime catagory and/or award?

And I think AD's idea is brilliant. Get 3-5 beers in everyone and we will have karyoke out the ass. I would be more than willing to do my part by rapping out Natural Born Killers for everyone.

I would also be interested in a non competitive event. Non onf my videos got shown at AWA last time, and I feel that just one huge screening room filled to the gills with AMVs is a good way to show everyones work.

AWA is a Video Art Track, rather than an amv contest - all of the categories are open to non-anime submissions.

However, it might be good having a non-anime specific award of some kind.

I'd pay money to see you rap Natural Born Killers! BUt I like the Kareoke idea. I wonder how bad we will all sound.

I was also curious about a non-amv category....mroe likely along the lines of short film kind. I'll have about 3 - 4 short films under my belt by the time the next AWA rolls around.

What do you guys think? :)

I'd like to see a non-competitive event at AWA as well. As I understand it, many AMV creators have one of two mindsets for their projects: impress the crowd, or express what they're feeling. Believe with less incentive to try for a prize, creators will opt for latter and focus more on their creativity. Course I could be wrong.

AMV Karaoke would be great!

*goes to find a purely instrumental song to do his AWA AMV to*
