Anime Expo AMV's final update

Post by StormofBladez » Tue Mar 10, 2026 12:52 am

Hey everyone, just a final update to not leave everyone hanging.

Unfortunately I will no longer be able to assist and answer any questions regarding AX AMV's. Any inquiries should be directly emailed to spja.
As of this year, my team and I are no longer involved with Anime Expo AMV's as they've cut the whole department. AMV's is still there but will no longer be volunteer run.

It was a pleasure to work with you all and believe it or not, I had a lot of fun! I hope my efforts in streamlining things and making things more transparent for contestants and attendees helped. Unfortunately, my plans to expand AMVs at AX are now dead like the dept.

A BIG Thank you to the old AX crew and all the coordinators for all the advice and help. It's really been a crazy ride.
I'll try to visit ALA and SakuraCon as my schedule allows.

Good luck everyone! It's been fun.
Cheers!

Sorry to hear, that's such a bummer. 😔

Thank you for all the work you put in the last few years! It's clear that you were working against a tide of BS to try to put on a good show for attendees and IMO you did a great job raising the standards back up given how much AX seemed to be actively trying to keep them low.

I genuinely only started entering the contest again because I saw you fighting the good fight and I wanted to support you. The con might not give you any credit, but a lot of us editors saw you and appreciated you! <3

Definitely check out ALA and Sakura if you can, both are awesome and I'm sure you'd have a great time!

Ugh that sucks! I just will never understand this kind of decision. Thank you for all your efforts! They have been seen.

Once the dust settles, If you ever want to judge or help run a contest in Texas holler - have a couple that I run and I am always happy to have new folks join the fun.

That is such a shame. You and your team were really fighting the good fight and it showed. If you and your crew ever want to get back into contest judging then there will always be a place for you in VAT.
