---RULES---
AmeChibi is an anime convention at heart, and while we love other media, all entries must contain at least 50% Japanese anime or game content.
Non-Japanese animated media (such as cartoons, western games, vtubers or vintage TV shows) are acceptable, but the focus must be Japanese anime or manga.
All types of video footage can be used, but things like watermarks or subtitles may detract from your score if they get in the way of the footage. Parody logos, fake watermarks or similar on-theme inclusions are permitted, and will not hinder your score).
Any use of AI (artificial intelligence) in your AMV's audio or video will be reviewed by the judges. No fully-AI generated videos will be accepted.
Videos must be your own original work, plagiarism will not be accepted.
While AmeChibi is an 18+ event, AMVs featuring explicit 18+ content will not be accepted. (For our American friends, that means R rated or higher). Check out the BBFC and MPAA Websites for more info on what is considored 18+/R rated. This is to keep it suitable for all of our attendees. If you are unsure if your video would be suitable, contact the event organiser (@SAK) on our Discord.
No more than 2 entries per person in categories 1-4. You can add an additional 3rd entry in category 5 (Other) if you want.
Videos should be in a standard 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, and at least 720p (or equivalent) resolution. 9:16 (vertical) Shorts style videos will not be accepted. Videos may be submitted as a downloadable link or Youtube link. If the video is being submitted as a downloadable file (e.g. mp4), entrants should confirm that it is virus-free and works in the organisers' video system (if it works in VLC player, it should be fine. Good rule of thumb). If you want to submit your entry on VHS cassette, please contact the organiser (@SAK) on Discord. That may be considered for extra style points.
Videos for categories 1-4 should be between 1.5 minutes (90 seconds) and 5.5 minutes (330 seconds).
Videos for category 5 (Other) should be at least 10 seconds long, and less than 5.5 minutes (330 seconds).
Entries should be submitted to the event organiser (@SAK on our Discord).
You may enter any video created and published after January 1st 2025. So, you can enter any videos you have already made this year, and videos that you may have Entered into other AMV contests.
This contest is open to everyone around the world - you dont have to be attending the convention, though obviously we'd love to see you!
Entries will close on 1st October 2025.
AmeChibi will take place at the Mercure Hotel, Northampton on 3rd-5th October 2025.
Trophies and Prizes shall be sent to the winners after the convention. All winners will be informed via Discord at the completion of the Winners Announcements in the event Closing Ceremony.
