The contest has grown to a point that we have to split it into 2 divisions - Anime/Animation & Live Action/Fandom videos

We're also doing 3 rounds of submissions this year.

Round 1 opens October 1 and closes December 31 2010
Round 2 opens January 15 and closes April 15 2011
Round 3 opens May 1 and closes July 31 2011

Finalists from each round will move to finals judging from Aug 1 - Aug 15
Results to be announced at Dragon*Con 2011

2 Divisions - 6 categories each:

Action
Comedy
Drama
Fun/Dance
Romance
Other/WTF

There will also be a Fan Favorite again this year - based ratings from the website.

We'll also have Best In Show.

This is actually pretty interesting. I've never heard of a convention taking entries all year long, so I can't wait to see how this plays out. I'm probably gonna submit 1 video per round in order to hit the max of 3. Now I just gotta decide which 3 of the 12 categories I want to submit to, and which order to do it in.

We decided to expand the contest over 10 months to allow a better flow of entries - for 2010, we had 95 entries. We had a hard time getting them all screened for the judges. Since we're doubling the size of the contest by adding 2 divisions and 2 new categories per division, its gonna take some time to get all the judging done. I expect between 150 and 200 entries this year and I want to make sure everyone gets a fair shake during the judging. Contestants are able to submit 3 videos per division - 6 videos total.
