IKKiCON IV Austin, TX - AMV Contest - Guidelines & Form
Anime Fun TV would like to officially announce that it will host the AMV contest for Ikkicon IV in Austin, TX on January 1-3 2010
We will basically have the same set of guidelines that we had at San Japan 2.x
Also we will welcome Walk-Up AMV submission on Friday January 1, 2010 till 5pm at our Anime Fun TV Booth.

AMV Submission Form and Rules.
Anime Music Videos (AMVʼs) are made from clips of anime shows and/or anime movies, set to a specific music style that are made by fans of Anime and Pop Culture.
AMV Categories, Descriptions, & Time limit.
• Fast Action
• AMVʼs containing moderate to fast music mixed with moving action anime
scenes, this category can also contain some Anime Trailer parodies if the intent is action based and not comedic. (4-5 Minutes Max)
• Epic Drama
• AMVʼs that are intended for an emotional response from the audience, it can
be either joyful to sorrow. Slow romantic, depressing, or joyful songs are a must. (4-5 Minutes Max)
• Comedy/p00p
• AMVʼs with the intent of comedy or jokes; you may use generic songs,
comedy songs, and/or audio clips from movies or TV. This category may contain some Anime trailer parodies if the intent is comedic. You may use your own animations for this category, you may also use an ʻAMV Hellʼ style of video but as long as its within the given time limit. (5-6 Minutes Max)
If we feel if your AMV submission dose not fit into the category you have recommended it in, we will contact you about the possibility of changing the category of the AMV. However, if you do not reply back in the specific amount of time given. We will change your AMV to its fitted category.
There will be 2 (Two) awards given out this year for each category.
• Editors Choice: Editors Choice will be decided by the Con Staff and/or Anime Fun TV Staff in a private screening of all submitted AMVʼs for each Category with a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place Award.
• Best AMV Overall: Out of the Editors Choice awards given, the editors will choose out of all three categories which AMV is the Best Overall.
Rules & Guidelines
1. All entries submitted must be made by you, and you alone.
2. All AMVʼs submitted MUST have, either before, or after; given credit to the Artist, Song, Anime, and AMV creator, edited into the AMV itself. You may use an ʻMTVʼ text style of credits that are shown at the start of the AMV and the ending of the AMV. If you have a specific or custom intro/outro to your AMV, Please keep this short within 5 seconds or less.
An example of a clean ʻMTVʼ text style below.
Best format is
AMV Creative Creator - (You) (Artist) - (Album of artist) - (Song) (Anime)
Example:
AMV Creative Creator - John Doe Three Days Grace - One-X - Pain Ah! My Goddess
If you have no credits what-so-ever in the submitted AMV, your AMV will be MMEDIATELY disqualified.
3. All AMVʼs will be judged based upon: Specific Category, Creative Editing ,Originality, & Fun Factor.
4. Please avoid mainstream American Animation at the moment. Japanese videogame CGI sequences are allowed. No, machinima such as Halo or Gears of War. Live action ʻmemeʼ or ʻcameoʼ clips are allowed in the Comedy/p00p category ONLY, as long they are a short clipʼs and are not continuously shown throughout the AMV.
5. Please avoid using grainy or low quality anime source footage, such as 'You'tubie and/or any Flash based sourced movie. If you need good source of video we recommend you picking up a DVD of given source if available.
6. All videos must be in a format readable by any computer, Mac/PC.

If you need help on what video format to use, please donʼt be afraid to ask.
7. No more than (3) Three videos per entrant, and no more than (1) One video in a specific category.
8. Hard copies such as CDʼs or DVDʼs are highly recommended.
9. Ballad songs (ie.Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven) are not recommended unless they are edited to fit in its required time limit for its specific category. It is best is to keep it short, and/or within its time given time limit.
10. Anime source footage used for your AMV MUST be without English and/or Japanese subtitle text. Unless you, yourself had added subtitles. However, your subtitles must not over-lay existing subtitles in your anime source footage. (In other word, donʼt cover the original subtitles from the anime with your-own subtitles on top of them.) If your video has subtitles in it we will contact you about a possible disqualification if the issue is not address in the amount of time given to you.
11. Audio, such as music and/or audio-clips, is recommended to be clean quality and audible for everyone to hear clearly.
12. Anime footage and music must be viewable and audible for all ages; blood, gore, and slight profanity are ʻokayʼ. However sexual footage, and overuse of profanity is NOT.
13. With the amount of time given to us in the schedule, we may or may not air your submitted AMV due to time constraints of the schedule. We will inform you if your AMV will be aired or not. All AMV that make it into the schedule will make it into a TV special of Anime Fun TV.

IKKiCON has nothing to do with Ushicon, and Ushicon pretty much went to Chibi mode because we all decided we could no longer run the con.
