CTcon 2009 Fan-Made Music Video Contest - Finalists Notified

You may be wondering why this contest is called "Fan-Made" instead of anime...
Since Connecticon is a multi-genre convention (including fantasy, sci-fi, comics, etc) we've decided to broaden the contest to include fan-made videos of other genres. AMVs are still more than welcome, but feel free to take this opportunity to submit any of those videos you've made (or are planning to make!) using alternative footage - Doctor Who, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, DC or Marvel Universes, Avatar, webcomics, etc.... Just about anything is acceptable. Use your best judgment - if you think the content would go over well with our general convention audience, submit away!

Deadline for submissions is July 12th, 2009 at midnight.

As soon as I get FTP information from the webmaster I'll have it available.

I'd like to note that the deadline has been pushed back to July 12th. Also, we now have FTP information available for uploads.
Go to http://www.connecticon.org/fmv_upload.php and fill in the information it asks for, then select your file and upload! It's that easy! I will send you an email when I have received the video letting you know that I got it and it plays... just please, be a little patient with me. I have a lot of videos to sort through and can only check the server once a week or so.

I'd like to make a small plea here.... we're trying to make this a multi-genre contest, ie live-action movies, etc... not just anime. All the submissions I have received so far are anime, save one. If you have any music videos you've made in the past 2 years with a non-anime source, please feel free to submit them! If you have any friends who have videos of this nature, please spread the word! We'd love to make this contest a success but we can't do it without submissions!

You can put them in a .rar format if you so desire.

Well, it seems .rar files aren't allowed by the uploader, so I guess I'll have to send them separately.

Gah, that stupid uploader. I'm going to have a long discussion with the webmaster about it for next year's contest.
