Where we'd do it was one thing I've been trying to figure out, since my room is off near Carrabas this year.

I don't know if anyone needs a system to use, as no one's stated such. It'd be unfair for me to use it since I know the Secret Ingredient and the theme beforehand (provided we do this prior to the event.) However, I'm not against having a 3rd party pick the source and theme if the current competitors really want me to throw down.

I already have an opening video for use at the con and all of that kind of stuff (this isn't the first time I've run this at a con before) but if you wanna do something if it's good enough I'll show it during the event. What I don't have is intro vids for each competitor yet. Normally I make them (30-60 secs long) but since this is an AMV centered con, why not let the competitors do their own? Up to them.

i get bored easy durring the editing, so if you want if no one uses my comp, me and you could do an intro vid for each person... and as for editing at your hotel... HELL NO. i speak for toothpick on this one, he said he has his fumm machine... meaning were not traveling that far drunk to edit... Oh and i have your CBR shirt... as for you editing in the contest, lets just let them go at it... altho knowing the secret ingredient and theme before hand dosnt really give you too much of an edge... when you iron chef you kinda have to be ready for anything...

Well at this point I have reserved a room over in the Waverly hotel (main con hotel) So if we just need spots to edit we can just do it there(barring any strangeness with hotel rooms like last year). It should be enough room to allow 3-4 people to edit there with no problem. We may just need things like power strips and the like to allow multiple computers to be hooked as the room may be limited as to the number power outlets it has. So I will try to remember to bring some but everyone should bring at least one to ensure that you will have power for your rig as if you don't and you run with and ext. HD and have no place to plug it in you will just be SOL.

As to making opening for opening for the competitors I have no problem with that I am sure I could whip together some when I am taking a break from cruzing around the con and 30-60 seconds doesn't take very long to come up with.

As to picking the secret..sure you can have an impartial person come up with it or maybe just run a secret online poll for ideas..and have some amv editors pick out some stuff..or you can just really throw it to hell and have everyone edit a different theme but still have to use the secret but nothing will be revealed until before editing (Bob Barker style bitch).


About the only other thing about editing early would be if anyone wants to hop in a the con..i think this late in the stage of the game it will be hard to add anyone else that hasn't already look over the thread or chosen to participate as if we edit early then we have to find a way to find that person at the con and make sure they know that we will be editing early which could end up being a pain in the ass so I will leave it to you..but I think having 3 to 4 competitors will suit the need but would make the last call for people maybe as the amv's dinner/meet and greet as by that time if their in great if their not we got a decent amount.

Alright, final call out for all editors who may still want to edit. Since we are going with the pre-event editing format, it will be very difficult to coordinate those spur of the moment editors. So your last chance to get in on the action will be at the AMV Dinner. Flag me down and let me know you want in, or do so prior. PMs work great. And I'll give you the info I've already given the other editors.

I'm letting editors make their own entrance video. You can do so pre-con and I'll grab them from you when I give you the source. Only requirement is that they be MPEG2 for playback at the VAT. If you don't do it yourself I'll make one for you.

Keep in mind, I can offer up some stock source if you do not have any. I can give it to you anytime at the con so you can take some time and get used to the sources provided. This service is offered to those editors who want in but don't have a supply of their own hentai to work with.
