Help With Adobe After Effects?

Post by DisturbingFrequency » Wed Jul 22, 2015 5:27 pm

This is my first time using Adobe After Effects. I have version 6.5, I think? Anyways, I'm trying to watch tutorials on it, but in all the tutorials the layout of their AE is different than mine? I can't follow along with the tutorial if their screen looks different than mine. ._.

My layout is this:

But if you look at the tutorials, all of them look like this:

Any help is appreciated. :)

Yea what you have is very old version. That tutorial uses cs5 or cs5.5 version. There are newer versions tho like CS6 or CC. (Note all versions above cs4 require 64bit system) You can find all their newest versions on adobe website.
Still better than that MMO.

Yeah, you probably van use "After effects 6.5 tutorials" when google/yt searching or "AE 6.5 tutorials" , you might also find books (mby ebay or smthg) if that will not be coherent enough :)
Still better than that MMO.

It might be difficult to find tons of video-tutorial style info on it. That version came out in 2004.

Ughhh. My mom just bought me this AE for my birthday in April and she spent a LOT of money on it, so I can't buy a newer version. I hope I can find tutorials then, because a few months back I tried looking for them and couldn't. :/

If I recall, Adobe basically started giving away versions of CS2 (a newer version than what you have, only 7 years old) a while back. Paying a lot for 11 year old software sounds like you were scammed or, at least, taken advantage of.

Well, I don't know how much she paid for it exactly, but we have a low income so anything over like $100 is a lot or us. :/ I dunno.
