Pinnacle Studio 16

Hi, I normally edit only pictures but my father recently got a pinnacle studio 16 program to use for his work and I thought it would a good chance to start editing videos as I was interested but I didn't have a program. I wanted to ask if this is a good program for amvs that I would use even after I've gotten pretty experienced and have more ideas or would I have to buy a new one?
