Cannot import .AVI files...
I read a thread that was similar to this problem but it wasn't any help. I have .avi files that I would like to import however I get an error message saying 'unsupported compression in file'. I'm not sure what this all means but I was under the impression that Premiere supported .avi files. At least that's what I've read anyway. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Convert it to lagarith, and then import it again.
You're using DivX/XviD as your compression for the .avi.

I meant the Lagarith is in .exe format not the video format...Dr. AaronAMV wrote:...spreet wrote:It is an .exe file. I have a Mac and I tried searching for a .dmg format but it's no use. Am I looking in the wrong place or is there an alternative?Dr. AaronAMV wrote:You're using DivX/XviD.

You're using DivX/XviD as your compression for the .avi.
