Hey there,
I downloaded the trial version for Premiere Pro CS3 so I'm pretty new at it. I've got a few questions about making AMVs with Premiere Pro CS3.
1. Is there any easier way to synchronize the music with the video? Currently I'm replaying the music over and over again, looking up at the exact time of when the melody changes, and synchronizing my videos with them. And it takes quite a long time to get it right.
2. Somehow, my preview screen screws up on some frames. Some parts of my AMV are pretty jerky and detached, like the screen is lagging (or paused). The only way for me to ensure these parts are synchronized is to export the project as a .AVI file and play it on Windows Media Player, which is kinda tedious.
I'll appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

1. Yes. Let the program display your music as waveform in your timeline. You see the peaks? Listen to the music. You will notice that most of the syncworthy parts are at peaks. Change the zoom in the timeline to get a different view on the peaks (they change in size and amount).
Just do it and you´ll see what I mean =P
2. Yes. Use MJPEG codec for preview. You have to set it up at the project settings when you start the project. Afterwards there will be no way to change it.

However, if you've already started a project with a different preview codec, you can import your existing project into a new one that has the right settings, so that you don't lose all your editing work.Bauzi wrote:2. Also, the lower the quality setting in the MJPEG codec options, the faster it will be and the more easily it will play back.

Can you change with this method other things like ressolution too with CS3? I think you weren´t able to in Pro 1.5. It would be nice if this is changed.

Nope I don´t, but hey: It´s just previewI've tried switching it to a MJPEG codec preview but I don't seem to have the codec installed on my computer. Do you happen to know of any free MJPEG codecs?

You will get used to the watermarks.
